The Green Exchange is a new thrift store with a mission to cut down on the ill effects of buying new on our environment.  Buying new creates a lot of wasted energy from the manufacturing to the transportation of goods, there is a waste of energy in creating packaging for these goods and then the packaging just ends up in landfill. Look at your garbage can the day after Christmas.  We want to do our part to ensure that quality used items find a new home where they are put to good use rather then taking up space in a landfill.  

Buying used at a store like ours helps a lot of people in our community.  Local women and children benefit from your donations. Customers get help by saving money on quality used items and customers also have an opportunity to get what they want or need at no cost to them through our trading program.  And we are proud to say that as our business has been growing we have been able to help others gain employment.
